My family and I have lived in Marrion Square Apartments since 2016. We moved here because it was a smoke free campus, and we were expecting our first child. Most recently when the companies changed, that smoke free policy was removed without our knowledge. We have complained of excessive exposure to cigarette and marijuana smoke from a neighbor, complaints were made to both management and directly to the neighbor because I was pregnant. There's a vast amount of research that shows how secondhand smoke can affect people with health concerns, children, infants and unborn babies.

On February 20, 2022, I had a miscarriage at 4 months pregnant. I believe that had the smoke free policy remained in place, and our complaints were taken seriously my family and I would not have had to experience such a great loss.
