Rev. Solomon Muin started this petition to Peaceful Citizens of Liberia and

Liberia peace and infant democracy are under threat by calls from extreme oppositions for the democratically elected government to step down by December 30, 2019, or a demonstration to unseat the Government will begin. Inciting this infamous campaign is RadioTalk Show host Henry Costa, and former rebel commander turned Representative, Yekeh Kolubah under the banner of a self-styled "Council of Patriots".

Liberia immediate ugly past of its 14 years civil war that took the lives of over 250,000 people, had its genesis in similar fashion, when Charles Taylor led a rebel incursion against a democratic government. It took the United States Government, the United Nations, and other regional and global bodies  investment of billions of dollars and precious lives to bring to end the carnage, and moved Liberia into a condition of stable peace with a credit of three successful democratic elections.

Liberia is the United Nations success story of peace and a model of transitional democracy in Africa, as evidence of a free and fair democratic elections held in 2017, with a smooth transitioned of democratic power from one elected government to the other since 70 years.  Though challenged with maintaining the peace and security of postwar Liberia after the withdrawal of the UN Missions in Liberia that provided security for the past govenment for 12 years,  this government is succeeding in the maintenance of peace and security, and Liberians are continuing to put their lives together. These extremists are taking advantage of the UN security withdrawal to exploit Liberia security vulnerability by incitiing violent undemocratic take over of government. Liberians don't need another hero. Enough have been done to devastate and rob Liberians of a decent living by pseudo-messiah who only aim is state power and self-enrichment.

Already, Liberians are beginning to panic and investors are cautiously turning around from investment opportunities in Liberia because of the uncertainty. This is creating economic hardship on the people of Liberia. Don't sit and allow Liberia democracy to be hijacked by these extremists. Take action to stop them now. Never again shall power be taken undemocratically in Liberia. Stand with Liberians and say "No to Step Down".

In Union Strong, Success is Sure.

Rev. Solomon M. Muin, a Liberian Clergy.
