Are you a busy Peabody conservatory student? Do you ever have 20 minutes between class to have a short productive practice session? “Wow there’s a free practice room!” 10 minutes later after getting into your flow a knock comes on the door “hi I reserved this room” before the pandemic practice room reservations were first come first serve. The university had to implement room reservations due to keeping us all safe during the pandemic. There was a reason you couldn’t reserve a practice room before the pandemic. It’s frustrating to have your own practice taken from you. The only fair system is first come first serve, just as it was before. It is day three of the semester and this has happened to me two times already. Yes you could check if the room is reserved on arts vision...but this is a flawed system and is not fair to all students, especially those who are in multiple programs and who are incredibly busy. Students snag a rooms when and where they can, which we all know you can’t always plan for. I hope you can join me in signing this petition and pass it on to fellow Peabody students.
