PayPal has announced a new User Agreement which will go into affect on May 7th. Within this agreement, PayPal states,

”We’re changing how we treat refunds. If you refund (partially or fully) a transaction to a buyer or a donation to a donor, there are no fees to make the refund, but the fees you originally paid as the seller will not be returned to you.”

This means that PayPal wants to keep 2.9%+30 cents on every refunded transaction. For business owners like myself who deal with large sums of money regularly, this new policy is infuriating. For example, I recently sold an item for $2,400. The item was missing a minor piece, and the user requested to make a return. Had I accepted this return under PayPal’s new policy, PayPal would have kept $70 for doing absolutely nothing. $70 I would be in the hole for just using their platform. That is simply unacceptable. If you’re a business owner who gets returns every so often, these nonrefundable fees will add up.

This change in policy is entirely unacceptable for any business owner. If PayPal does not change their policy, myself and many others will be forced to use other platforms for sending money.
