In January 2022 Health Minister Stephen Donnelly announced plans for a special tax-free €1,000 Covid-19 pandemic bonus payment to be paid to the frontline healthcare workers who were working between 1 March 2020 and 30 June 2021.

It is now September 2022 and there has been no further movement for many if not most of those eligible.

I, along with fellow petitioners, urge the Irish Government, to recognise the need for this payment to be processed soon, particularly coming into another difficult winter with higher costs of living.
