On the 19th September 2022, the day of the Queens funeral, hundreds of thousands of low paid, primarily women workers, employed in the private sector, will have a bank holiday imposed on them and their employer will deduct a days pay. I know many school meals staff in Brighton and Hove who cannot afford to lose an amount that is very small to the well off, but, ironically, will mean some will go without meals themselves. This is very unfair and the Queen herself would have thought it very wrong.
