It is starting to become public information that Flight Attendants do not get paid during boarding due to current changes in Delta and United Airways recent policy changes. Jetblue Flight Attendant are REQUIRED to show up at their flight assigned gate dressed in full uniform compliance ready for duty. If they are not fully complied in what's mentioned above, they WILL be penalized.

In additional to this, once they get on the plane the have to check all safety equipment and ensure they are all in compliance under FAA standards. After completing safety checks they must complete other non safety checks in which Flight Attendants WILL be fired if checks are not performered properly. Once checks are completes, there is a flight attendant briefing to ensure all crew have their required items and are in compliance then a pilot briefing where they discuss safety procedures, weather, turbulance and flight time.

Once all of this has been complete, boarding starts. Help with bags, dealing with customer complaints, greeting customers, are just some of what the crew is experiencing during this time.

Then exit rows, special needs customers, unucompanied minors, nut allergies areas are all briefed of their responsibilities.

Overhead bins are finally closed and doors close (on a smooth day). At times there is fuling, waiting times, bags to be loaded, suitcases that need to be checked and much more that delay the closing of the door.

When the flight is over, flight Attendants and those of which who were flying on the flight off duty must do what is called a blue turn which they are REQUIRED to clean the planes, getting garbage from seat back pockets and floor, and crossing seatbelts.

All duties which is mentioned above are off the clock (free labor)

Their pay does not begin until the pilot takes his foot off the break and pay stops when the plane is a the destination gate.

There are times when crew members can not reach the scheduling deparment and spend hours on hold to reach someone about issues leaving way too many crew members with no hotel accomadations sometimes sleeping on planes and waiting hours in hotel lobbies. Also unpaid time.

As mentioned all crew members can be penalized and even fired during this "free labor" time.

Please take action and help in signing this petition to create a change in this airline taking advantage of hard working individuals afraid to lose their jobs.
