Give students an option to do remote learning. (Pawtucket School Department)

Students have been in a tough position for the past two years due to COVID-19 and the variants of COVID-19. Students were given an option late last year to do remote learning or go in person. We are asking you to do the same now. Students have many reasons to do online learning, oppose to going in school. Elderly people at the homes of these students are at risk to catch the virus, aswell as the students with weak immune systems. Also, since there is no option for students to go online, a lot of students feel forced to go into school while they are sick to make sure they aren't marked absent or miss any work. This isn't okay or fair for anyone, especially the older teachers that are beginning to retire so they can potentially save their own lives. Schools like Tolman and Shea with large populations should not be forced to go into school but instead be able to choose. We know the new variants are very contagious and are spreading fast, at least give students an option.
