If there is one thing I have learned during my time as a collegiate student, it is that colleges are primarily designed to put students in debt without really teaching them what is essential to learn. Why must we go into debt for information that is free online. Why must we pay for classes unrelated to our majors.

I am tired of logic taking a back seat when it comes to important matter such as this one. I am sick of students not being able to have a voice. I am disgusted at how our education system prioritizes revenue over education. Why have we become comfortable with this logic in our education system. When did school shift focus away from actually teaching students? I have always had a passion for learning new things, but I have never really learned anything in a classroom. Our education system must change. I am not a bad student, I am not lazy, I am filled with passion and a yearn for learning. I am tired of being made to feel stupid because my school is a scam, and how formal education is designed to so everything but truly educate.

I am calling for tuition across all boards to be lowered to a price that does not encourage debt and financial ruin.

I am calling for an end to all classes that are required outside of ones major.

I am calling for all students who paid full tuition for online classes to be reimbursed at least 50%

I am calling for students to have a say in their future.

Being one student, there is not much I could actually do about this. But I do know that thousands of other students across the country and world feel the same way. It is time we started to get what we pay for, it’s time for students to have a voice. I am no longer scared of voicing what I believe to be a massive problem. I encourage you to share this and post it anywhere you like. Please share any thoughts, opinions, or similar stories. This is something we are all in together, and if we want it to change, its time it did. Power to the students.
