Make Basic Life Support compulsory for children in schools.

The ultimate aim of my campaign is to make Basic Life Support a compulsory training programme for children in UK schools. I believe Basic Life Support is a life skill and every child should have the opportunity to learn it.
Did you know there are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests every year in the UK. On the streets, the survival rate of a cardiac arrest victim is less than 1 in 10. In comparison with the rest of the world, the UK trails behind other European countries like Norway and Holland, where the survival rate is over 20%. For a country with one of the most developed and advanced Healthcare sectors in the world, having such poor survival outcomes is a concern.
Through education and training we can provide children with the skills and knowledge of Basic Life Support in what to do in an Emergency situation. By spreading awareness we can help to increase survival rates on our streets and help to save a person's life.
