Petition for the Release of Schenectady Resident Steffhanie Campo from ICE Detainment
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Union Action and the Union College Activist Network are asking for your signature to support Steffhanie Campo, a Schenectady resident detained by ICE upon her release from jail on February 9th. She is currently under threat of deportation to the Philippines. Steffhanie has made her share of mistakes – she’s served jail time for petty larceny, bail jumping, and possession of contraband, and has previous petty convictions in New Jersey and New York. Despite her mistakes, we don't believe convictions for minor, non-violent crimes are reason for deportation out of a country a person has lived in for her entire adult life. Seffhanie Campo's case illustrates that ICE is out of control, and her detention and possible deportation highlight how their aggressive policies are impacting our local community. Your signature and support will be helpful in pressing local and state lawmakers to release Steffhanie, and other detainees like her, and to resist the excessive, inhumane policies of ICE.
