Perform "Hey Schoolgirl" at Forest Hills

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel first performed together as students at Forest Hills High School and graduated from there in 1958. While attending the school, they had their first of many charted recordings. The Everly Brothers influenced “Hey Schoolgirl” reached #49 on the Billboard charts in 1957, and the two performed the song on American Bandstand as Tom and Jerry.
The song has rarely been performed live since the duo’s subsequent rise to fame as Simon and Garfunkel. The song is rarely heard on the radio since that time, although it is regularly heard on “The Grooveyard”, a show focusing on pre-British Invasion music, and receives a positive reaction from listeners. Since the “schoolgirl in the second row”—as mentioned in the lyrics—was likely inspired by a classmate at Forest Hills High School, it is highly appropriate for Paul Simon to perform it at his concerts at nearby Forest Hills Stadium on June 30 and July 1, 2016.
We ask that this song be included on Paul Simon’s set list for those shows.
