Say NO to Parking Charges at Prudhoe Station and Country Park

This petition had 844 supporters

Northumberland Council are planning to introduce parking charges at Prudhoe Station and Tyne Riverside Country Park, Prudhoe.

Both of these car parks are used predominantly by Local people. The Station to get to work in Newcastle by train, the County Park, used by Families, Local people of all ages, Dog Walkers, Runners and bikers who have been encouraged to use the Country park for exercise, all of whom will suffer a financial penalty from the proposed charges, many of whom may not be able to afford said charges and therefor either drive to work causing more traffic pollution and road congestion (in regard to the station car park) or reduce or terminate their use of the Country Park for much needed leisure activities, which will not only affect local health and welfare but also threaten the income of the Park's newly opened and upgraded cafe which provides job training for those with special needs and a wonderful facility for local people.
