Jessica Pinder started this petition to John Richardson-Daws

For years Dartmouth has been isolated in its public transport. For any resident to get to Torbay Hospital it takes at best 1 hour 43 minutes with 3 bus changes and can take as long as 3 hours and include passenger ferry and 4 buses. Appointments for before 9.30am and after 4.30pm are impossible to attend. As for visiting friends or relatives it makes it very difficult. The elderly and vulnerable who rely on the public transport suffer as a result of this. Physically and mentally.

We desperately need a direct route to Torbay Hospital. We would like the 92, which currently runs from Dartmouth to Totnes every 2 hours, to go direct to Torbay Hospital and run hourly and later. With the last bus leaving the hospital no earlier than 8.30pm.

This allows patients from Dartmouth, kingswear, Halwell, Harberton, Totnes, Berry Pomeroy and Marldon direct access to Torbay Hospital. Decreasing pain and suffering of all of their residents. Not to mention the increased job opportunities and visitor numbers. As well as the reduced isolation of vulnerable residents.

Before I was lucky enough to own a car I was regularly trying to do this journey with a young child in tow. I at the time was using crutches and in chronic pain. Not to mention the mental health issues journeys like this one triggered. I have worked tirelessly to drive this proposal further with the help and support of local councils and individuals including Councillor Ged Yardy, Councillor Colin Luker and Councillor Jonathan Hawkins. We also have the support from the local NHS trust.

Now we need your support.

Thank you
