Professor Ian Craig, the former National Schools Commissioner, was commissioned by the Governing Body at Simon Langton Girls Grammar School (SLGGS) in Canterbury to complete and report on more than 200 allegations of serious misconduct into the former Head Teacher of the school, Jane Robinson.
Just prior to disciplinary action being taken against Jane Robinson on the basis of the findings of this Craig Report, her resignation was accepted by Kent County Council and the publicly funded Craig Report was suppressed. It has been publicly stated by both the Chair of the school's Governing Body (presently Alasdair Chisholm), and also Keith Abbott at Kent County Council, that this Report "will never be published".
This is a completely unacceptable state of affairs. The Information Commissioner's Office is investigating the conduct of the Chair of Governor's at SLGGS in respect of his refusal to respond to Freedom of Information requests as well as multiple school policies.
There is only one solution to this abhorrent state of affairs - the publication, in full, of Professor Craig's Report. All of the stakeholders of the school deserve to know, and indeed have earnt the right to know, exactly what misconduct, which included allegations of criminal misconduct, has been occurring at our children's school.
