Watch the Solar Eclipse

Monday, August 21 is the first day of school, and also the only chance most students will ever have to see a total solar eclipse. Solar eclipses are incredible celestial coincidences... the next chance at seeing a total eclipse this close to Colorado is not until 2045.
Seeing a solar eclipse is a once in a lifetime experience, and it is only visible from certain spots in the country. The closest viewing point is near Glendo, Wyoming, at 11:45 am on Monday, August 21. For this reason, we request the start of school be delayed until Tuesday, August 22 to encourage all students to view the totality of the eclipse, in light of the six hour round trip required.
