3 Generations of our family have traded on Peterborough City Market for nearly 40 years. This appears to count for nothing. Many people rely on us not only for their purchases but also as a community hub.

The market is part of our cities history and culture. It is a trading place where local people purchase from small independent local traders who have proved to be so invaluable during Covid19

Peterborough City Council are regenerating the current site along with many others for residential buildings only, with no plans or provision to include small independent businesses or relocate the current market. This will result in not only losses of livelihoods and jobs but also a loss of our culture. Whilst we embrace regeneration of our city centre we feel the city council should consider and make provisions for our existing communities and cultures and the retailers who provide for them.
