Dismiss Chairman Simon Jenkins due to recent overturning of National Trust Members' popular vote to prohibit badger culling on National Trust land.

The National Trust is an iconic institution, which depends entirely on its members for its success. At the recent AGM thousands of members voted to implement badger vaccination rather than cull on National Trust land. Those who did not vote left their vote to the discretion of the chairman. Despite the obvious will of the majority of members to vaccinate over culling, the chairman used every last one of these discretionary votes (more than 2000) to vote in favour of a cull, therefore overruling the popular will of the members. National Trust land should be a haven to our indigenous wildlife. Had the chairman acted fairly and given half of his discretionary votes to one side and half to the other, the votes to vaccinate and not cull would have won. If the Trust has its way, it will now become a graveyard for badgers, and foxes alike, judging by a recent call to bring back foxhunting in an article by Simon Jenkins in the London Evening Standard: http://www.standard.co.uk/comment/comment/simon-jenkins-lets-kill-and-eat-the-animals-that-menace-london-8491655.html
We the undersigned agree that, if members of the Trust, we will cancel our National Trust membership until a democratic decision has been reached regarding the cull. We the undersgined call collectively for Simon Jenkins' immediate dismissal and a second, democratic members' vote to occur, overruling the recent vote swayed by the chairman.
