Open letter to His Beatitude John X concerning the sentence of exile against Father Panteleimon of Hamatoura
We the children of The Antiochian Church in North America, in lineage of Hamatoura, have received, with immense sadness, the news of the forthcoming exile of our Dear Father Panteleimon Farah.
When our actions are guided by sincere prayers, and we ask to be illumined by the Holy Spirit and that our Most Holy Theotokos may direct us as well, our actions are correct in God’s eyes. He who sees into the depth of our hearts knowing all intentions and their meanings, even if they have not yet been put into words. “Whoever is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18:37)
Since the arrival of Fr. Panteleimon to Hamatoura in 1994, we Antiochians find, during each trip back home to Lebanon, a haven of Orthodox Spirituality brought to us by Father Panteleimon and the monks who worked (and continue to work) arduously, on reviving the monastery.
Hamatoura is the Mt. Athos of Lebanon and we ask you, as a child asks his Father, to reexamine your decision.
May God’s will be done, through the prayers and intercession of the Theotokos and the Holy Great Martyr Jacob of Hamatoura.

Updates: The letter was emailed to the Patriarch on August 30,2017. Please continue to pray for Geronda Panteleimon, who's now on Mt. Athos, and for the monks of the Holy Monastery of the Theotokos in Hamatoura.
