Contrary to the position of the Ontario Government, Hamilton Health Sciences has decided to terminate all unvaccinated employees as of January 26th. These terminations will strain an already struggling healthcare system, putting patients lives in danger. The employees being terminated are a diverse group of people, over 300 of them, with diverse roles and many with decades of experience; despite this, they are united in their view that the principles of healthcare should centre around respect, informed consent, and free will. These employees also share a love for their job and the community they serve. They are people with families, mortgages and monthly bills. They are yesterday’s Healthcare Heroes.
