Why this petition matters

Started by Quinton Lacy

My name is Quinton Lacy Jr. I have been a victim of false accusations, unfair treatment in family court when it comes to the false accusations, parental alienation, and the biggest one paternity fraud. Paternity fraud has a minimum of two victims. The man who has been lied to about being the father and the child as well. In some cases the biological father as well because they were never informed they were a father. While the woman who facilitated these lies is free from any consequences for these actions and in some cases rewarded with child support from a man who DIDN'T help produce the child.  Most cases this isn't even exposed until years later.

There are solutions such has mandatory paternity testing the day of birth or before anybody signs the birth certificate. A woman signs an affidavit saying that this man is the father of the child. Which can help prevent any emotional distress that would come from caring and supporting a child for years that you thought was yours. Since those things aren't put in place I purpose a solution that may help deter this from happening.

I'm proposing that Paternity Fraud should be treated like the other crimes associated with fraud. It should come with a fine and depending how long the lie went on, possible jail time. If a married man finds out a child isn't his through paternity fraud. The woman should be required to pay that man back for the years he took care of the child having no idea the child wasn't his. Also if the biological father had no idea that the woman gave birth to his child, he should not be held liable financially for the years he didn't know about the child. If a unmarried man is paying for child support and finds out he should be reimbursed and child support should be terminated immediately. There should not be statue of limitations of how long paternity can be tested.

I strongly feel like this something that can be changed if enough PEOPLE bring it to the attention of our elected officials and have it elevate from there. The biggest victim in this is the child who didn't ask to be here. If we can prevent this, let's at least put something in place to hold these type of women accountable.
