Honour Forgotten WW2 Bomb Disposal Heroes, Killed Doing Their Duty

350 WWII bomb disposal soldiers from all services were killed doing their job defusing and clearing enemy bombs, UXBs, over 50,000 across the UK. Many were killed whilst clearing the beaches of our mines.

They didn't choose to do that job, as a Royal Engineer it was their duty. They still have not been given official recognition for their dangerous and heroic work.

I discovered a watercolour which began my journey of discovery leading to the remarkable and heroic acts by the artist AFJ Hannaford and his colleagues. You can see the book here

My goal is to get these brave soldiers, the pioneers of todays bomb disposal squads, along with those who serve in the bomb disposal service since, the recognition that they ALL deserve.
