Nikki Whitaker started this petition to Senator Pat Roberts and

Tuition and fees at public universities have risen an average of $2,790 the last 10 years, an increase of over 40%. Add in the cost of room and board, and students enrolled in 2018-19 forked over $40,000 a year to attend a public university and $60,000 for a private college. There are no subsidized private loans.  Most student have to eventually get their parents involved to apply for Parents Plus Loans to even get by. But when going to refinance our loans at a lower interest rate, because our payments were just too high..... we miss out potential benefits; such as loan forgiveness and the stimulus bill no interest for 90 days.  Especially now more than ever we need to make sure this gets added to our stimulus package!!! STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS FOR EVERYONE!!!

Cons of private Lenders:

-Each private lender has different rules for their loan repayment plans (many are rigid.)
-Some private lenders require loan payments to begin while the borrower is still in school.
-A good credit history matters. The amount of interest you pay for your loan depends on your credit score.
-Private loan interest is not tax deductible.
-Private loans generally cannot be consolidated, except under extreme circumstances.
-Few private lenders offer loan forgiveness or income-based repayment

Generations are being weighed down by this burden and instead of building businesses, they pay their loans until they retire. SOS

So I plead with the people to sign this petition to cancel “ALL” student debt!!!
