Hello everyone, as winter break has come to an end Kids are supposed to be returning back to school Jan 3, 2022. Unfortunately, Covid cases are rising and with the new variant Omicron things have worsen very fast. Winter break, and holidays have just passed. Many families traveling and gathering for these special occasions. Testing sites are packed, results are taking longer than usual. 
As parents were asking for our opinions to be heard, this doesn’t only affect our students it affects teachers and staff too. We’re asking for the city to go virtual for a few weeks. If not possible at least give the parents the option to do virtual learning. We’re asking for the board of education to listen to the parents and the different situations of every  kid. Not all are lucky to even properly distance from their families at their homes. Some parents can’t afford to get sick or else they can loose their job or not make the money need for their daily needs. What about those who live with vulnerable people, older people ? 
Today is Jan 4, 2022, there has already been so many absences teachers, students, and staff.
Please we ask that you reconsider, do the best for the community, don’t let the students miss out on their learning. This an emergency, not any other times. 

Hola a todos, ya que las vacaciones de invierno han llegado a su fin. Se supone que los niños regresarán a la escuela el 3 de enero de 2022. Desafortunadamente, los casos de Covid están aumentando y con la nueva variante Omicron las cosas han empeorado muy rápido. Las vacaciones de invierno y las vacaciones acaban de pasar. Muchas familias viajan y se reúnen para estas ocasiones especiales. Los sitios de prueba están llenos, los resultados están tardando más de lo habitual.
Como los padres pedían que se escuchara nuestra opinión, esto no solo afecta a nuestros estudiantes, también afecta a los maestros y al personal. Pedimos que la ciudad se vuelva virtual durante unas semanas. Si no es posible, al menos dé a los padres la opción de realizar un aprendizaje virtual. Pedimos a la junta de educación que escuche a los padres y las diferentes situaciones de cada niño. No todos tienen la suerte de distanciarse adecuadamente de sus familias en sus hogares. Algunos padres no pueden darse el lujo de enfermarse o pueden perder su trabajo o no ganar el dinero que necesitan para sus necesidades diarias. ¿Qué pasa con aquellos que viven con personas vulnerables, personas mayores?
Hoy es 4 de enero de 2022, ya ha habido tantas ausencias de maestros, estudiantes y personal.
Le pedimos que lo reconsidere, haga lo mejor para la comunidad, no deje que los estudiantes se pierdan de su aprendizaje. Esta es una emergencia, no en otras ocasiones.
