Petition Closed

The Uniting American Families Act (UAFA) allows Americans – regardless of where they live, or the relationship recognition offered by their local or state government – to sponsor their spouses and partners for residency. It would put an end to the separation, and exile, of LGBT immigrant families.

The UAFA allows LGBT Americans to sponsor their foreign-born spouses and partners for residency in the United States. While the Administration has taken positive action to defer deportation in some cases, these steps are only temporary. Congress must act – by passing UAFA into law – in order to provide couples the permanent victory they need.

Right now this bill is in the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. This petition is targeted to those committee members who are not currently co-sponsors of the bill in hopes that we can gain support for the UAFA and get it to the next step for a vote on the Sentate floor.

Please pass The Uniting American Families Act (UAFA) and Keep Our Families Together!
