Pass Brandden’s Law: A National Endangered Youth Alert System to Protect Runaways
The Issue
Every day, children between the ages of 10 and 16 go missing across the United States — and many never come home.
These are not just statistics — they are daughters and sons. Young girls and boys being preyed upon by gangs, traffickers, and predators who see them as tools for violence, crime, or profit. Many of these children are written off as runaways, when in reality, they are endangered and in urgent need of help.
Yet, our current emergency systems — like the AMBER Alert — fail to protect most of these children. That’s why we are demanding the passage of Brandden’s Law, a nationwide policy to establish the Endangered Youth Alert System (EYAS).
Brandden’s Law is named in honor of a Massachusetts youth whose story is one of many — a reminder that our systems are failing our children.
The Endangered Youth Alert System would:
✅ Expand emergency alerts to include missing children at risk of gang recruitment, trafficking, and exploitation — not just abductions
✅ Mobilize rapid public alerts through text messages, digital highway signs, television, radio, social media, and public transit systems
✅ Coordinate efforts between law enforcement, schools, child protection services, and youth programs
✅ Educate communities about the dangers young girls and boys face, especially in under-resourced and high-crime neighborhoods
✅ Give families and the public the tools to act fast and save lives
This is not just a policy — it is a lifeline.
We call on Congress and every state legislature to enact Brandden’s Law and protect the most vulnerable in our communities. Every child deserves to be seen. Every child deserves to be protected. Every child deserves a way home.
🛑 No more labeling them “just runaways.”
🛑 No more delayed responses.
🛑 No more children lost to the streets.
Sign this petition if you believe in protecting our youth, uplifting our communities, and giving every missing child a fighting chance.
