Virgil's Story
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Virgil was saved from PASCO COUNTY SHELTER, FLORIDA. He was brought to the shelter after being found on the side of the road. He could not get up on his own feet. From Friday-Monday morning he sat in the shelter in dire need of medical attention. Unable to stand he was forced to urinate on himself causing burns to his underside. We found out about Virgil's serious situation and with the help of the Humane Society of Northeast Florida we went to the shelter and took Virgil to Dr. Fig of ASAP vet clinic. Virgil was soaked in urine and had been laying in his own vomit. Dr. Fig concluded quickly Virgil was hit by a car. He did xrays and saw that Virgil had a very serious hip fracture with possible internal injuries. The kind staff at ASAP cleaned Virgil and dressed his wounds.
Virgil spent Christmas Eve and Christmas with the AA Animal Hospital under the care of Dr Stanton. His appetite was strong and he was able to go to the bathroom. On visits he was wagging his tail and loved being petted.
Now today. Virgil is in dire need of surgery on his hip. It is expensive. He is in a lot of pain and in order for the surgery to be as successful as possible he will need it very soon. The cost is estimated at $3000-3600.
I want Virgil to have a second chance at life. He is such a beautiful and loving boy that has been through so much already. Please open your hearts and donate to his care.
Thank you and please share the word.
Letter to
State Attorney, Florida Pam Bondi
Dear Attorney General Bondi,
We are asking that you Investigate Pasco County Florida Animal Control Shelter regarding the abuse of Freckles, and Virgil. We ask that you direct that funds are mandated towards the care of a dog named Virgil, who is the second victim to be brought to the public eye after he was injured and left to rot in his kennel. Please read Virgil's story from the eyes of his rescuer, and consider investigating Pasco County. We ask that you do something about it along with contributing to Virgil's medical care.
We appreciate your professionalism, and concern for the welfare of the people of Florida, and we hope that you are equally concerned that the all of the laws of Florida are effectively enforced.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
