The Injustice of Nelson Gonzalez

These signatures presented before you are concerned citizens of the State of Illinois in the City of Chicago in the County of Cook. Nelson Gonzalez has been put through 23 years of heartache and pain because of a corrupt Chicago Police Officer by the name of Reynaldo Guevara. Although Nelson was innocent of that crime, he ended up doing his full sentence and was released in October of 2016.
Since then, Nelson has been a full time advocate and supporter of the wrongfully convicted as well as proving his innocence. Not only has he maintained a steady job, he has also enrolled himself in school and plays an intricate role in a committee called "Innocent Demand Justice Committee" where he is a vital resource to the community of the wrongfully convicted. Nelson has been a prime example of someone who despite his circumstances has over come tribulation.
So we ask the Parole Board and your Honor to see through the obvious deceit and release Nelson Gonzalez back to society where he belongs.
