According to HMRC, anyone claiming child benefit and earning 50k a year was no longer entitled to this benefit.  Now thousands of families are finding themselves owing thousands of pounds to HMRC in Higher Income Child Benefit charge, however thousand of families were never aware of this charge, HMRC have handled and are still handling this appallingly. This petition is to get the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to get review this charge and the way in which HMRC advised taxpayers of this charge. HMRC are privy to all taxpayers incomes and should contacted employers and employee with regard to this, however lots of families were unaware of this or never received any notification either. How this government organisations can be allowed to put hard workimg families into further debt or stress is disgusting. They should be held accountable for their mismanagement.
