We run the risk of becoming homeless because outgoings are not taken into consideration when using Child Maintenance Service.

Every other financial aid takes outgoings into consideration before coming to a conclusion of how much money you can receive - but not Child Maintenance when done through the Child Maintenance Service. This means a huge amount of people are barely getting by because they have to pay out more than they can afford. The Child Maintenance Service only takes into consideration yearly gross income BEFORE tax and national insurance is deducted. Let alone other outgoings such as mortgage/rent, bills and other living expenses. Whilst children do need to be paid for and those who made the children be accountable for them, people shouldn't be made homeless or have their mental/physical health decline due to money worries if they cannot afford the amount their online calculator churns out. It just isn't fair! Outgoings must be considered!
