The Supreme Court of Pakistan (Urdu: عدالت عظمیٰ پاکستان; Adālat-e-Uzma Pākistān) is the apex court in the judicial hierarchy of Pakistan.
Established in accordance to the Part VII of the Constitution of Pakistan, it has ultimate and extensive appellate, original, and advisory jurisdictions on all courts (including the high courts, district, special and Shariat court), involving issues of laws and may act on the verdicts rendered on the cases in context in which it enjoys jurisdiction. In the court system of Pakistan, the Supreme Court is the final arbiter of legal and constitutional disputes as well as the final interpreter of constitutional law, and the highest court of appeal in Pakistan.
The office hours of the Supreme Court of Pakistan are Monday to Saturday (except Friday): 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Friday: 8:30 am to 12:00 noon.
Courts are the main pillars of Justice in a country. Every person is dependent on them for justice. The main problem in Pakistan is that many people have to wait for many years for getting justice. But if we increase the time of the courts we can solve many cases of the country. Anyone can come at any time for justice.
A total of 1,873,085 cases were pending disposal in all the superior and subordinate courts of Pakistan as on November 30, 2017, according to the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (L&JCP).
All of these cases must be solved as quickly as possible but the timing of the sitting of the court is too less to solve such complex cases. so, it will be a positive move to provide round-the-clock service.
If a hospital can function for 24 hours a day, a police station can work for 24 hours a day so why not courts of justice? As the saying goes, ‘justice delayed is justice denied.’ So the courts in the country should provide fast and fair justice to everyone.
Not only the SCOP but each and every court in the country should provide round-the-clock services, delivering justice during the day and during the night.
