Ritual slaughter has been legally carried out in the UK for many years. For several religions, this is an essential part of their practice - and this petition would not seek to interfere with centuries of sincerely held beliefs.

However, it is becoming apparent that ritually slaughtered produce is now being sold in shops, and served as cooked produce in restaurants, schools, hospitals etc, without the knowledge of the consumer.

This petition requests that all ritually slaughtered produce be clearly and unambiguously identified to the end user, before purchase or consumption.
