Why this petition matters

Started by Precious Elikplim

Since last year, there has been in the parliament of Ghana, a proposal to put a 1.75% tax on electronic transactions. The fact is, the masses cannot afford it. It will take too much toll on the people of Ghana as small businesses are not doing so well.

The average Ghanaian cannot afford to part with that sum when transacting. We also believe that the revenue gotten from this E-levy will not be enough to fix Ghana. E-levy been purported as our Messiah is not going to redeem us unfortunately. And once again, Ghanaians simply cannot afford it.

Everyone on the street to our homes do not agree with this tax but it seems the majority insists on passing it. They represent we the masses and our opinion should be respected and taken into consideration.

Our voices matter. Our opinions as Ghanaians matter so let's use this platform to let our Executive and legislative body know what we want as a people. We are the change. Let's sign this petition and make it happen.
