In Ghana we run a unitary state of governance whereby the state is in charge of all developmental projects and activities. This system of governance has led to corruption and is the major cause of poverty in our nation. We have limited the power of the legislature to just laws, hence making most of our MP’s liabilities. We need to adapt the federalism system of rule this will make the development of each region in the hands of an elected governor and mayor. All taxes for a region goes to the governor’s office for development and a portion to the federal government. This system will drastically reduce corruption as the money is not allocated to a single body. It will help keep track of tax payers and crime. It will promote economic stability. It will pave the way for more private companies. It will bring about interest in local politics. It will help in development of our schools since property taxes are pumped into our schools.

secondly in 2017 president Akuffo Addo introduced the free SHS policy. I strongly believe there could be other ways to send children to school without letting them pay. Eg; School loans. The student will have time to pay at an interest rate. This will generate profit.
