Australian citizens resident overseas are - from 11th August- no longer able to return to Australia and leave again. The justification is to reduce pressure on quarantine system. What it does is separate Australians who have degrees, careers and immediate family in a second country, from parents/children/spouses in Australia- in many cases who we already haven’t seen for 18 months. No other countries are doing this. Celebrities have been allowed in and out Willy nilly. And all of this could have been avoided if the government had built adequate quarantine facilities. This is a gross violation of the human rights of Australian citizens.
