Captain Tom embodied the spirit of two generations and helped and inspired us in our hours of greatest need....twice. A statue or state funeral are fitting but not enough. We need more bank holidays so who better to have one in honour of? Let’s remember a remarkable man for ever, let his name and his memory be honoured in perpetuity, and let’s all benefit from him one more time, I think he’d like that don’t you?
