Why this petition matters
Started by Gulnaz Kauser
A new law to ban fireworks after 9pm. Fireworks are displayed the most on Guy Fawkes Night. The sun usually starts to set from 4.30pm onwards in the UK giving everyone enough time to enjoy the evening before 9pm. It’s a difficult night for the vulnerable including the elderly, the young and pets. As a country we can do more without losing the excitement that the night brings for all of us together.
An exception should be made on New Years Eve. The issue with Guy Fawkes Night is celebrations usually begin up to a week before and to the weekend after so it’s an unsettling week to say the least.
