No more MIQ in New Zealand

No more MIQ in New Zealand
Many people want to travel for various reasons. Given New Zealand’s situation with more than one lockdown over the last two years, makes it a very depressing place to live when you can’t escape for a breather overseas. It now feels more like a prison than a privilege to live in this country. The poorly managed MIQ is not the solution.
Those who do take the COVID vaccine are still in the same boat as those that do not when it comes to travel. What is the point of getting the vaccine if it doesn’t give you more freedom?
We need to get rid of MIQ and allow travellers to self isolate when they return from overseas. If the Government wants to track them and ensure they stick to this, then the use of ankle bracelets would be sufficient.
Let people have the freedom to escape. The last two years have been so difficult. The current MIQ deters people from travelling by imposing two weeks mandatory isolation in lottery type of accomodation. At the very, very least, allow people to make their own arrangements for isolation.
