PAUL WILCOCKS started this petition to Parks Victoria

Last summer we had an abnormal amount of rain which helped increase the amount of mosquitoes in the area of Gresswell Forest Wildlife Reserve. I personally could not sit outside from an hour before sunset until a couple of hours after daybreak without being severely bitten.

This petition has been started to call on Parks Victoria to begin an eradication program in this reserve.

I like so many others when bitten, swell up into big lumps all over the legs, elbows and neck. I consider myself lucky that I have not contracted any of the diseases that they carry. There is no evidence to suggest that mosquitoes can transmit Coronavirus but a person infected could possibly have some of this virus in their bloodstream in my opinion. I hope I am wrong about this!

Each year when the mosquitoes turn up I turn on a bug zapper just on sunset and leave it on all night. This seems to have work over the years (not last year though). The problem with this is the collateral damage caused to our moth population. This being another reason I would be very happy to see an eradication program introduced. There are a lot of birds in this area and I'm certain that moths would make up part of the birds diets.

Please sign this petition so that we can reduce the risk of diseases from these critters!
