Why this petition matters

Started by Krista Houpt

Belvidere Circle is located in West Chester, PA and is part of the Indian King community in West Whiteland.

Currently, there are signs indicating that parking is only allowed on one side of the street in some areas, but it is not enforced and vehicles park on both sides. While driving along Belvidere, many blind spots exist due to current vehicle parking and many neighbors are fearful of an impending accident or injury. When busses, delivery trucks, and trash/recycling vehicles access the community via this road, it is often difficult for them to pass. Of great concern is the inability for emergency vehicles to get through in a timely and safe manner due to parking along both sides of the street

During inclement weather, it is even more difficult to pass as snow piles and takes away parking directly along the curb. Additionally, since there are no sidewalks, there is a lot of foot traffic and many are fearful of someone (adult, child or even a family pet) being hit by oncoming traffic

By signing the petition, you are in favor of only permitting parking on one side of the road along Belvidere Circle and asking the township to strongly enforce such parking. Signs exists but enforcement is needed to keep this side of the road open.

Once enough signatures are collected, this will be presented to the board members of Indian King who will then present this to the township.
