Hello, I am a student of the school Park House English School. I am in year 12 and i have found out recently that the school is denying some of the sixth formers (year 12s) to have a graduation ceremony, they will only allow the year 13s to have a graduation ceremony. We were not even given the option to try to raise the money for it like the year 13s were. This will be my last year as well as the last year for a lot of my classmates as we hopefully depart to universities around the world.

The issue with this is that a lot of us as students have been in this school for a long time and I've personally been there for 13 academic years and as we depart we would all like a graduation ceremony to celebrate our amazing achievements, I, as well as the students don't see what is so troublesome about this request as the majority of the schools here in Qatar have a graduation ceremony in hotels and other big halls.

When we asked about the reasons as to why we are denied a graduation ceremony (which is our basic right), we get told that we are "dropping out" 

So please answer me this, how is it okay for a school to allow us to annually raise money for an entire prom, but not a graduation ceremony? What’s more important?

A graduation is always the proudest moment in a students life, as well as the student’s parents and loved ones. It is a moment of pure content and liberation, and it is absolutely shameful that the school thinks it is okay to take that moment away from us and from our families.

Please sign this petition if you agree that a graduation ceremony is a basic right of every student and that the school needs to take this more seriously and not treat it as something that is insignificant.
