Justice for Our Daughter

Justice for Our Daughter
Why this petition matters
On December 1st our 15 year old daughter was physically assaulted at her school. After jokingly pushing a male student, the boy threatened to kill her before placing her in a chokehold until she became unconscious. There were 13 student’s around at the time, including herself, outside with no adult supervision. She suffered injuries that required her to go to the ER as well as follow up appointment with her doctor. She now has PTS as a result of the assault. The boy in question was suspended for 3 days. Our daughter feels the school failed her, that they don’t care and she deserved it.
If a chokehold has been banned across the country due to the dangers of it which were brought to light by the tragedy of what happened to George Floyd-how is it acceptable for a student to use it on another?
The Park Hill School District needs to update their disciplinary policies throughout the district. They need to make sure student’s are properly supervised while on school grounds. They need to make sure students feel safe in their school. More importantly, they need to educate students that if they see something happening-assault, bullying, racism, etc., to SPEAK UP!
