Stop the land development subdivision by George Dairy in Powell WY

I am highly against allowing a developer to build in the General Rural-Powell, a county area zoned for both agriculture and residential homes. This is not only unsightly , unseemly and destructive , but will carry ramifications for generations to come .
It should be a ' no brainer ' for anyone who is concerned about the Big Horn Basin , families , Park County and history , as well as a slap in the face to all of the people who built and have sustained this county in both good times and bad .
Would you rather see a subdivision that destroys what agriculture built ? Agriculture is the backbone of this country and has fed the country in times of hardship and in times of prosperity . By destroying what was built by the farmers and ranchers of this country , you are simply saying that we no longer matter to you . What have the George family done FOR this community as opposed to what some fly by night young urban professionals will do for you ? These young urbanites want to move here for the open spaces , the luxuries we enjoy like clean air , clean abundant water , a friendly rural type atmosphere , and the escape from urban sprawl ...but when you destroy the agricultural lands and introduce urban sprawl and filth , how long do you think they will stick around ? You want the increased tax revenue from these theoretical people who will live in these homes , but do you want the problems that come with it ? Increased traffic will lead to increased car accidents on this stretch of road that is not the safest place to be in the winter already . Are you ready to give up the peace of mind that comes with neighbors being neighbors and do you have no fear of the increased crime that will result from increased population . Are you prepared to increase the law enforcement presence in this area , the fire protection district presence and even increase the size and capacity of the heath care facilities and providers in this area ?
The infrastructure is not prepared to handle a large influx of people into this relatively unpopulated area , nor are the water resources sufficient to support this type of development . Have you done the research on how detrimental to the local agriculture based society this will be ? This will also increase the statistical probablity of more wildlife / vehicle collisions in this area and will help decimate the wildlife as well as the open areas of growth that support the populations of endangered and non endangered species ( of which farmers and ranchers are quickly becoming ) . The livestock raised in that area need the open space in order to regenerate the next generation of milk and dairy production as well as grain , hay and other crop production .
The George family has been in that area and has been productive and responsible members of our community for generations , and for a few quick dollars are YOU willing to sell out a family ?
Stop this development .
