Increase Safety at Parley's Park Elementary without installing a chain link fence

Parley's Park Elementary School is surrounded by breathtaking views of mountains, a quiet, safe neighborhood behind it and has a white, picket fence on it's perimeter. The School Board is proposing spending upwards of $350k to fence in Parley's, McPolin and Trailside with 6 foot, black, chain link fence in the name of safety. We feel this is not in line with our community values of protecting open spaces, is not necessary since there already is a perimeter fence at Parley's and does not increase our children's safety. The resources should be spent where they would be most effective which is at the front of the school and securing the classrooms within the school. We are not in support of a fence and support more effective use of the resources available to protect our children.
