On January 13th, 2022 the borough council of Palmerton, Carbon County, PA refused to make a decision on allowing a plaque on a park bench for Butters the Squirrel. The council President also refused to accept the donation of a plaque.

In stead, they chose to put it on the meeting agenda for the next Palmerton Borough Council meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2022 to be voted on.

Butters was a squirrel who lived in the Palmerton town park. Butters was fond of people, particularly Ed Condon of Palmerton. Butters and Ed were great friends for over a year, in which time Butters would come to Ed when Ed called, would eat out of Ed's hand and let Ed play with him.

Sadly, Butter was struck and killed by a car.

We asked Palmerton Borough to put a plaque on a park bench in Butters' memory. They refused to even consider it.

We did get them to put it on the agenda for their next meeting so it can be voted on.

PLEASE sign this petition to urge Palmerton Borough Council to place a plaque on a park bench in the park

There are currently dozens of benches in the Palmerton Park with memorial plaques in memory of people, but the borough council of Palmerton outright refused 2 requests to place a memorial plaque for butters.

PLEASE sign this petition to show your support for Butters and a plaque on a park bench in Butters' memory.
