Sushana Chaudhary started this petition to Parents, Youth

Hi! My name is Aarshi Chaudhary and I'm 10 years old. Today I was at a traditional Hindu festival called Navratri. I went to a temple and I was really excited because kids get gifts today. When everyone started distributing their gifts, I got a few bags of chips, and a pencil. I looked to a girl on my right, who seemed about 5 years old, and she had gotten hair ties, a few stuffed animals, and a gift bag. I thought that was a little unfair, but I let it go. When it was time for the second round, somebody was passing out little gift bags. I was really excited, and when she got to me, I couldn't wait. But she just ignored me and moved on to a kid who was about 4 years younger than me. Then, I noticed she skipped all the kids my age or older. I definitely thought that it was really unfair. Then, when we got out, I told my mom that people seemed to be skipping older kids. She said traditionally this festival is for girls younger than me. Also, the person who was hosting the festival said to the parents that if their kid was over 9, they would have to leave. Then I thought, Why is it that you have to age differentiate in celebrating festivals? If God resides in every kid, then all kids fall in the same category..a 5 year old and a 11 year old. Do you want me to start thinking that I'm really too old to have all the fun? Do you want me to think that I'm no longer a child? Do you want me to grow up even before I am old enough? Kids will anyway start thinking they are too old for presents around age 15 (or they are  ready), so they should get presents while they can.

So, if you or your kid thinks that age discrimination be stopped so please join me in signing this petition.
