We feel that the excessive cell phone use in the Interlake schools is both a school and parent problem.   While there is a “code of conduct” in the school handbooks, from personal experience (through subbing and our own kids)  we know this is not being followed through.  As said before, we are not just blaming the schools/teachers. This is also a parent problem.  What we would like to see is:

-       Cell phones must remain in lockers at all times between the hours of 9-3:30. (and will actually be enforced)

-       Grades 7/8 can use them off school property.

-       If parents need to get a hold of their kids they can call the school.

 -   Teachers use the tech that is supplied by the schools. They will stop asking kids to bring in their own tech to use. (there is too much pressure for parents to supply tech, that's not our job - it's the school's.)

-       An email sent home to every parent with clear expectations on personal tech at Interlake schools (as we know many people don't read the student manual)

If you agree please sign, things will not change unless we show we have the numbers. We would like to present this to the school board  as well as schools. (once again this excludes kids who need it for medical reasons)
