Having dcps shut down again can make covid cases go down in the dc area and now that there are new variants of covid its even more dangerous than it originally was. Its easier for students and teachers to pass around covid unknowingly because they might be asymptomatic and didnt catch it in time. Not all schools have enough or run out of resources quickly becuase they have a lot of students. A lot of students arent use to having a mask on for multiple hours a day and sometimes take their mask down to get catch a breather but just doing that alone is a hazard for their self and people around them. Although online school was challenging for some students and teachers with technology issues it was still safer then everyone going into the building. Even if some people go in on some days and other people go in on others or people who do better in person than virtual stay in school it would still safer than having everyone in the school at once. In conclusion i think think closing down schools will be safer for students teachers and parents.
