Jaclyn Loganberg started this petition to Lord Selkirk School Division and

Parents who are double-vaccinated should be allowed to watch their child play indoor school sports.  Parents are allowed at other school events, for example, school hockey games and school concerts.

Six School Divisions in Manitoba currently allow parents and family members to watch volleyball.

Parents would take turns supervising the stands so the coaching staff will have no other responsibilities.

Parents will also ensure that each parent is double-vaccinated.

We are requesting this because we want to see our children play volleyball.  Our children and coaches would also appreciate fans in the stands.

It is our desire to have equality between sports and other school events.   As a volleyball parent, it was difficult to learn that other parents can watch their children and we can't.

At the high school hockey tryouts and games, for example, there are numerous spectators, some un-masked, not physically distanced and anyone could watch. We also know that school concerts are allowed at present in schools at 50% capacity.

We are asking for ONLY parents to be allowed into the gym.  That would be a maximum of 24 people in the entire upper area of the gym.  This is reasonable.

There would be no more need to live-stream the games, which is a hassle for coaches and managers.

We hope you understand and would allow us to enjoy the last years of our children's volleyball games.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you as soon as possible, before the season comes to an end!
