I would like to raise a petition that no parent has the right to withhold a child from the other without a proper childrens social services or Police intervention for the safety of the child.

it is all to common that when a relationship breaks down, one parent will withhold a child for control over the other parent. This in my personal experience was always my ex’s and without any legal grounds to do so, they would withhold my children from me.

this petition will be that if a parent withholds a child from the other parent without any legal grounds then that parent should be charged with child neglect, a parent being in their child’s life throughout helps them develop and grow without more sever mental health issues and the one parent withholding the child is placing mental health issues onto the child. The child is going to wonder where their parent is, why they are not seeing them, possibly blame themselves and more, then the other parent also has to pay to go to court for a court case which costs thousands of pounds when the parents should be thinking of the child and not themselves.

if a parent has to apply to court because the other parent is not allowing them to see their child, then that parent should be made by the court to cover the costs of court fees, solicitors and any other expenditures that may occurs within reason. These things could be such things as fuel, food, and accommodation.
